PREVIEW: Tod Otgonbayar exhibition
In 2003, Tod arrived in the UK from Mongolia, where he had been Chief Artist to the Mongolian Postal Service and a member of the Union of Mongolian Artists.
In Mongolia his paintings were symbolic, with frequent reference to the political and social status of the nation. Now based in the UK, he is exploring a new freedom in subject matter and styles.
Tod has exhibited in Poland, the former Soviet Union, Germany, France, Bulgaria and London.
The B-bar show is a retrospective of Tod Otgonbayar’s work over the last four years, including cultural, political, spiritual and surreal themes.
Some pieces are available for sale and there is an opportunity to book his work for gallery spaces.
Dan Thompson, of the B-bar, said: “It’s Tod’s biggest exhibition to date and it’s continuing our support for quality artists, which is something we’re very keen to do at the B-bar.”
The exhibition runs from April 8-15 and admission, during B-bar opening hours, is free.
