Przenośne domostwo - jurta (mong. ger) znane jest wielu ludom Azji Środkowej. W formie niezmienionej co najmniej od kilku wieków jest używana także przez współczesnych, koczowniczych Mongołów. Drewniany szkielet jurty kryty jest filcem i płócienną opończą, a wewnątrz tkaninami dekoracyjnymi. Widoczne elementy konstrukcji są rzeźbione i jaskrawo malowane. W zbiorach Muzeum znajduje się siedem kompletnych jurt, z czego dwie z meblami i wyposażeniem.

The yurt - a movable household - is used by many people of the Central Asia. This kind of house is also used by contemporary Mongolian nomads. Its form remains unchanged for at least the last several centuries. The wooden construction of the yurt is being covered with felt and fabrics and from the inside with decorative hangings. The visible parts of the construction are carved and painted in bright colours. The Museum's collection consists of seven complete yurts, among them two fully equipped with utensils and original furniture.
